Swan Retail are looking for an experienced Web Developer who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering outstanding solutions for web and eCommerce.

You will work closely with our web team to develop and deliver eCommerce websites built in Wordpress & WooCommerce in order to integrate our group’s retail software systems for real time inventory, stock management and product detail population.

The role will be to deliver our tried and tested methods but also working with the team to pioneer new, improved and more efficient ways of working that help us to deliver more effective products.
 

Job Responsibilities:

• To learn and understand the Company’s products and services

• Work closely with the web design team

• Develop and deliver eCommerce websites built in Wordpress & WooCommerce

• Write code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP or JavaScript

• Prototype new products

• Integrate and link retail software systems for real time inventory, stock management and product detail population

• Decide on the best technologies and languages for the project

• Test new features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct task in all cases

• Liaise with departments for progress updates

• Have an understanding and appreciation of the aesthetics and details required in any good digital brand presentation

• Gather requirements from clients and users

• Stay up to date with new trends and advancements in web development

• Document code, so other developers can understand and contribute to it

 

Essential Skills & Experience:

​

• Proven experience in a similar role or environment

• Experience within web development

• Experience delivering websites with WordPress and WooCommerce

• Efficient at building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with existing clients and customers

Desirable Skills (but not essential):

​

• Ideally ten years+ experience in a similar industry

• Good understanding of retail systems and experience developing eCommerce stores integrated with live retail systems for the product population
