Accredited Mental Health First Aid Course

  • We deliver the MHFA England First Aider course. Learning takes place through four live training sessions on Zoom, spread across four weeks, with online self-learning activities in between available on the learning hub.

  • The course will teach you how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health challenge. MHFA is not about trying to fix someone's issue's, it will show you how to listen non judgmentally, reassure, respond and guide the person to professional help. Helping the person to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms.

  • You’ll also learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe. What’s more, you’ll gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you. This course is also a great opportunity to look within yourself and check that you are ok, and gain skills to look after your own wellbeing.

What else is covered:

  • The impact of mental health issues

  • Stigma and discrimination

  • Overview of mental health conditions

  • Understanding stress & anxiety
